Mobility scooter travel – Marrinawi Cove and Barangaroo Reserve

Visiting Sydney and on your mobility scooter? This place is a must. Mobility scooter paradise! No uneven surfaces, it’s just too new. You’ll love it. Think picnics and parks but get there by 9 as it can get stupid crowded later in the day.

Sensational Views

Sensational views of Sydney Harbour away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A winding walkway that has been tastefully created and the large Barangaroo Reserve behind it.

Disabled parking

There are 2 disabled parking spots on the street at the roundabout. They are just in just the right place. There is also an underground carpark if that suits you better.

Marrinawi Cove Ocean Pool

This is the first spot you get to as you enter the gates.

I’ve put up a reel on the travelswithmyscooter Instagram account if you would like to check it out.

No not really accessible for us mobility scooter users as the sandstone blocks are too thick to get down to the water. There is a handrail that goes the length of the sandstone steps at the end if you’re game. There are chairs at the end and you can watch plenty of boats and kayaks taking advantage of all the harbour has to offer.

Toilets

The toilets are at the old gatehouse that is at the junction of Barangaroo Reserve and the pool. It has a smallish left hand disabled toilet. The door was easy to open so I could get in and out without any assistance. Now that makes it a favourite spot too!

Toilet block and a coffee/gelato pop up

Barangaroo Reserve

As I entered the space today the cicadas are deafening. It’s 9.30am which is a great time to visit as there get to be too many runners and bicycles on Barangaroo Reserve.

Walsh Bay Restaurants

When you finish you can take an about turn and head about 300 metres down the road to the piers at Walsh Bay. They have a completely different feel. You can grab a bite at one of their restaurants there.
