I love this surf club. There’s always a g’day.
I’m at Hawks Nests famed vantage point for taking in some of Australia’s amazing coastline. Yes, you’ve seen me get on the Surf Clubs mobi-mat in a previous post. Now I’m sitting back upstairs taking in the views.
It’s a sweet space and only opens on the weekends from 3-6 during the tourist season. The surf life saving club is manned by volunteers. You bring your own snacks, grab a drink and support the club.
You cannot get onto the balcony with your mobility scooter but really, why would you want to. It’s so windy I am I’m so happy to stay put. I’m watching my sunnies sliding across the table…gotcha! Yep super windy in the arvos.
It underwent a full renovation around 2021 so it’s in tip top condition. There’s a proper disabled toilet upstairs and a lift to get you there.
Lift
If you are in a wheelchair or on a small portable mobility scooter you can take advantage of their lift to get up.

Disabled parking
In the carpark there are 2 disabled parking spots. If the club is closed you can still take in the view behind me.

Disabled toilets
There are well maintained public toilets just behind the surf club as well as one in the surf club next to the lift. These were all a part of the renovations from 2021. Yes you will need someone with you as the doors open inwards.
