A hidden gem for people with mobility issues is this great little rock pool at Malabar, NSW. It’s perfect if you are on a portable mobility scooter. You can scoot all the way down on a ramp from the carpark.

It’s a long ramp so don’t bother with your walking frame as it is too far to go. It’s also a bit steep. People do bring their wheelchairs down though so I am sure there would be a way to do it safely.

Here’s the ramp into the pool. There are great handrails in good condition.
Here’s my mobility scooter that I stopped just next to the handrail.

Getting back up the ramp with my portable mobility scooter. Be careful at the carpark. The gradient is too steep for scooters though if you park in the first disabled spot there it won’t be a problem.
WARNING When you get to the top don’t try to go straight ahead at the carpark. It is too steep and your mobility scooter will topple backwards. It happened to me. I didn’t come off but for those of you that have experienced this it is very scary. Your scooter will shift back like a bucking horse and then go sideways. The car spots closest to the pool should be OK I was going to the upper side of the carpark when it happened.
