A while ago I went to a comedy night dedicated to comedians with a disability. They had just started out on their comedic adventure after a short course with some mentoring from their teachers. Talk about a laugh! What made it even more memorable is that they had interpreters on stage for the deaf people in the audience.
It was so bizarre. You’d have the hearing audience wetting themselves laughing, and then a delayed reaction as the signer finished interpreting. At one stage there we were keenly watching the interpreter as well as the comedian. Their over the top renditions of what was said was just hilarious. A great night out!
So today I started looking up how to be a comedian, or how do you write for comedy. It’s something I’d love to do well. Some people are just naturally gifted and others do short courses to get started. Think a short course it where I’m at ☺️😝
