This is a cool little French restaurant I went past in Sydney’s CBD. It has great reviews. The photos online are so enticing. Their website tantalises me with its promise of authentic food and a great atmosphere. Inside the decor looks amazing. Is it doable for me though? I’m getting around on a walking frame or portable mobility scooter.
Let’s ask Google.
These days I have a habit of just typing a search in my phone to see what it comes back with. AI thinks I’ll be OK so I’m pretty thrilled as I scooter my way home. The place looks so cool!
Read the screen grab below. It does sound promising though I love the disclaimer “…it’s always wise to call ahead to confirm specific needs or their cozy, intimate setting”

So I took the advice and gave them a buzz.
“We do not have a lift, there are about 12/14 stairs to go downstairs to the bathroom”.
Can you see me there hanging on for grim death as I make my way slowly down the bannister?

It doesn’t mean I won’t go. I will be sussing out my surroundings to see if there is an accessible bathroom somewhere nearby. It wouldn’t be the first time that I have had to improvise…that restaurant does look amazing.

Ask the restaurant not AI as AI relies on feedback people are giving. That doesn’t mean it is true!
